Cedar Lodge Endowment Fund
The 2022 competition is closed.
Funded by the Vancouver Foundation, the income from the Cedar Lodge Endowment Fund is to be used for the purposes of supporting projects that involve residential rehabilitation, assessment, teaching and research for persons recovering from head and other physical injuries. Projects must be led by a principal applicant, who must be either a UBC faculty member or a UBC student sponsored by a UBC faculty member.
Examples of possible projects might include:
- An annual conference for students with disabilities
- An annual student-sponsored, community-based conference regarding disabilities
- The development of interprofessional team-based placements in the field of disabilities
- The development of an interprofessional training package to support placements in the area of disabilities
- Interprofessional student projects regarding disability and the justice system
Successful applicants must provide a final report by April 30, 2023 outlining how the funds were used to carry out the purpose of the Cedar Lodge Endowment Fund.
For a project to be considered for funding, it must be:
- led by the principal applicant, who must be a UBC faculty member or a UBC student sponsored by a UBC faculty member
- in the area of residential rehabilitation, assessment, teaching or research for persons recovering from head and other physical injuries
- completed by March 31, 2023
Successful applicants agree to the following funding guidelines:
- Project activities will reflect those described in the application form
- Proper fiscal management of Cedar Lodge Endowment funds
- Thorough and well-planned evaluation of project
- A final project report including a financial summary of expenditures
- Public acknowledgement of the support received from the Vancouver Foundation’s Cedar Lodge Endowment Fund, administered by UBC Health

The principal applicant of eligible projects must complete the Cedar Lodge Endowment Fund application form and include the following information:
- Concise description of the project and the activities to be undertaken
- How the project relates to the purpose of the Cedar Lodge Endowment Fund
- Statement of the issues or priorities that the project will address
- Anticipated impacts or benefits of the project
- Which other organizations in the community are involved in the project (if applicable)
- Funding amount requested and justification
